About me
Hello, my name is Jürgen Zörner and I have more than 40 years of experience in horticulture, irrigation technology, and agricultural management.
After studying horticulture at the University of Applied Sciences in Weihenstephan, I initially ran my parents' ornamental plant business before completing an additional degree in economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld. I then worked as a technical consultant in Berlin and spent more than three decades in agricultural management in Hesse (LLH). My focus was on greenhouse technology, energy conservation, cold storage planning, work management, and irrigation systems.
I have been part of Irriport GmbH since 2011, full-time since 2017. Here, I support the management and take responsibility for irrigation management for special crops. I also assist Parssa Razavi in his work as an expert by collecting data and preparing technical reports.
My particular area of expertise is irrigation management based on plant cultivation and soil science. This includes:
Determining water requirements for fruit, vegetable, and wine growing
Site-specific soil moisture analyses and monitoring
Selection and design of suitable application techniques
Scheduling and quantification of supplementary irrigation
Integration of fertigation technology
Advice on permits and subsidy programs
In addition, I appear as a specialist speaker both at home and abroad, giving lectures on the crop production principles of efficient irrigation.
With my experience and knowledge, I develop irrigation concepts that are both sustainable and economical.
